Certified Veterinary Technician

*Job Overview*We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in animal care and handling, with experience in veterinary practices. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our patients, assisting veterinarians in various procedures, and ensuring the overall well-being of the animals in our facility. We are a privately owned practice caring for dogs and cats only. We are looking for a fun, engaged and motivated individual who enjoys working with people and the pets they love. Our technicians see their own appointments.*Responsibilities** Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures* Perform laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging, including X-rays* Administer medications and vaccinations as prescribed* Provide proper animal restraint and catheterization techniques* Maintain accurate medical records and documentation* Educate pet owners on animal care, nutrition, and training* Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinic, adhering to aseptic techniques* Monitor animal vital signs and behavior during treatments* Handle dogs and other animals with care, ensuring their comfort and safety*Qualifications** MUST BE A CERTIFIED VETERINARY TECHNICIAN TO APPLY.* Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and physiology* Familiarity with dental terminology related to animal care* Experience in veterinary critical care or laboratory settings is a plus* Understanding of animal husbandry practices and dog handling techniques* Equine experience is beneficial for certain positions within our practice* Strong communication skills for effective interaction with pet owners and team members* Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.Job Type: Full-timePay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hourExpected hours: 35 – 38 per weekBenefits:* 401(k)* 401(k) matching* Continuing education credits* Dental insurance* Employee discount* Health insurance* License reimbursement* Life insurance* Paid time off* Uniform allowance* Vision insuranceExperience:* Veterinary technician: 1 year (Preferred)Work Location: In person
