Position Overview The CNC Operator II / Programmer is primarily responsible for operating CNC machines, performing setups, inspections, and monitoring production quality. While this role is operator-focused, the ideal candidate will also have the ability to edit programs and assist with CNC programming when needed. Key Responsibilities Operate CNC machines to produce parts that meet exact print specifications Perform machine setups, tool changes, offsets, and program edits as required Support CNC programming when needed (not a full-time programming role) Conduct first article inspections and ongoing quality checks Inspect parts using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.) Monitor machining processes and stop production if quality standards are not met Load and unload parts, fixtures, and components correctly Maintain clean and organized work areas to prevent chip buildup or coolant spills Perform routine machine maintenance and report issues promptly Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times Communicate clearly with the Production Manager regarding machine issues, quality concerns, or production impacts Contribute positively to a team-oriented, respectful work environment Perform other related duties as assigned Qualifications & Experience High School Diploma or equivalent required 4+ years of experience in a CNC machining environment (horizontal milling preferred) Strong experience with CNC setups, edits, and inspections CNC programming experience or the ability and willingness to assist with programming as needed Experience with CAD/CAM software (Creo, Pro-M), G-Code editing, or ability to learn Lathe experience is a plus Solid mechanical aptitude and understanding of machining processes Advanced math skills and strong attention to detail Proficient with inspection tools and standard shop hand tools Basic computer proficiency required Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 60 lbs Ability to stand for extended periods Willingness to become forklift certified if required Location & Commute Expectations This position is on-site in Minden, NV. Due to winter weather conditions, candidates should reside in or near the Minden / Gardnerville / Carson City area to ensure reliable year-round attendance.
