Job Description:
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional * Performs evaluations for patient conditions that include depression, anxiety, substance abuse and general emotional and cognitive functioning to inform provision of appropriate mental health services and referrals. * The assessment and care provided accommodate to the cognitive, emotional, chronological maturation, and diversity needs of the person served. * Provides a full range of therapeutic interventions with a strong emphasis on evidence based. models of care and measurement-based care in the outpatient mental health setting. * Conducts assessment appropriate to individual patient with attention to the implications of test results for a veteran's every-day, real-world function, and successful treatment/management of health problems with an emphasis on behavioral health factors associated with improved quality of life. * Provides group, individual, and family psychotherapy and counseling to veterans and family members as indicated through assessment process. * Provides psychoeducation to patients and family members to support healthcare adherence and relapse prevention. * - Works with assigned Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Program (BHIP) team to support optimum clinical care. Adheres to operational policies and procedures for the treatment team, established by the affiliated Service Line Director or designee. * Makes careful consideration of the appropriate level of care for the Veteran and utilizes established processes for moving up or down the levels of care when needed. * Consults and coordinates with community providers following HIPPA practices to support psychosocial recovery of the person served. * Provides consultation to professional staff within Carl Vinson VA Medical Center (CWAMC) and to community providers, concerning clinical assessment findings and appropriate treatment plans for patients. Complies with national and local performance measures, including timely health care screening and completion of clinical reminders for all patients. * Complies with all CPRS documentation procedures, including timeliness standards for documentation and proper patient check out procedures (e.g., entering diagnostic and procedure codes) * Attends and participates in administrative and informational meetings held by the Service Line Director (or designee) and facility Director. Academic/ Teaching/ Training * Provides clinical supervision to pre-doctoral practicum students in clinical/counseling psychology, pre-doctoral interns in clinical psychology, and post-doctoral fellows in clinical psychology, when opportunities are available. * Supports activities of Mental Health Service Line and participates in relevant educational seminars. * Participates in improvement of clinical supervision skills with emphasis on Evidence Based Practice models. * Provides training and guidance to other behavioral health staff. * Takes on program development tasks as assigned (e.g. New Employee Orientation (NEO) presentations, subject area champions role, service on a committee). Program Evaluation * Participates in planning of measurement, gathering and analysis of outcome data to guide program evaluation and development as assigned. * Implements program design and assists in clinical management of program staff as assigned. * Other duties as assigned under Program Evaluation.
