Job Description:
Purpose: The HR Generalist position supports the organization by managing a broad range of human resources functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, benefits administration, and training. This role helps ensure a positive employee experience while maintaining alignment with organizational goals, company policies, and legal requirements. Essential Functions:Handle and oversee all job postings, written offer letters, and recruiting efforts. Understand departmental hiring needs and proactively screen applicants, set interviews, and assist with hiring as requested, including leading hiring events. Engage with local schools and professional groups to develop career awareness as well as potential candidate base. Provide tours as needed. Engage in talent acquisition and talent pipeline development creating a 3-6 month staffing plan in alignment with business needs. Coordinates and executes local community relations, networking and sponsorship opportunities. Assist and manage onboarding initiatives - including in-person follow-ups with new hires. Conduct new hire tours highlighting our product, production facilities, and on-site company benefits (health clinic and gym). Engage with employees to ensure HR is in tune with morale and pulse of the company and assist in developing the workplace culture to align with organizational goals. Work with management through guidance, training, and interaction to ensure employee relation situations are handled with fair, reasonable, and consistent treatment of employees and compliance with employment law. Be a resource for managers as they navigate relations with their employees. Where warranted, actively engage with managers relating to employee discipline and termination. Assist with unemployment for Indiana employees as needed. Assist with switchboard coverage during vacations and time-off. Required Experience / Knowledge:Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field and/or equivalent experience At least two years related HR experience is required. Necessary Skills & Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills, with a proven ability to prioritize multiple tasks/projects and meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong collaboration and teamwork skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook are most critical). Must display professionalism in all interactions and the ability to maintain a positive attitude through periods of adversity and disagreement. Work Requirements: This position may require sitting, standing, working in front of a computer monitor in an office-setting approximately 90% of the day and occasionally, working in a hot, humid manufacturing environment. Requires ability to travel between field locations. Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; use hands to fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to frequently lift and move up to fifteen pounds. This position is a full-time position, which may require some flexibility in hours and days worked.
