This position builds teacher capacity through job-embedded coaching, professional development, and data-driven systems improvement to ensure high-quality universal support..The Secondary Student Behavior Interventionist (70%) provides supplemental behavioral and social-emotional support services to identified students. The Behavior Interventionist works to improve student engagement, reduce behavioral barriers to learning, and support academic success through evidence-based interventions, progress monitoring, and collaboration with staff and families. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesBehavioral Systems ImprovementProvide job-embedded instructional coaching focused on strengthening universal (Tier I) classroom management and behavioral practices.Model research-based strategies that improve student engagement, self-regulation, and instructional time.Support consistent implementation of schoolwide PBIS, SEL/RULER, Restorative Practices, or other adopted behavior frameworks.Assist teachers in establishing predictable routines, clear expectations, and proactive behavior supports.Promote culturally responsive and trauma-informed classroom environments.Collaborate with teachers, administrators, dean of students, and support staff to create positive learning environmentsTeacher Capacity BuildingProvide coaching cycles with goal setting, modeling, implementation support, and follow-up reflection.Align coaching to School Improvement goals.Conduct non-evaluative classroom observations and provide structured, reflective coaching feedback.Design and facilitate professional learning aligned to identified schoolwide behavioral trends.Support new, developing, and experienced teachers in building strong foundational classroom management systems.Develop practical tools, templates, and implementation guides to support staff.Participate in MTSS/Child Study/SAT meetings and other problem-solving teamsData-Driven Schoolwide Improvement, Collaboration, Student Support & InterventionAnalyze schoolwide behavior data (office discipline referrals, attendance, engagement metrics, climate surveys and other data sources).Collaborate with principal, dean, teachers, and MTSS teams to strengthen Tier I supports before Tier II/III referral.Support family engagement efforts related to positive behavior supports, including parent workshops and learning, newsletters, and collaboration regarding student progress.Monitor student progress and adjust interventions based on data.Provide supplemental, evidence-based behavioral interventions to identified students who demonstrate academic risk due to behavioral or social-emotional challenges.Develop, implement and monitor Tier I/Tier II individualized behavior action plans (BAPs)Deliver small-group and one-on-one instruction focused on self-regulation, conflict resolution, executive functioning, and positive social skills.Conduct behavior observations and assist with data collection for problem-solving teams and BAP creation and monitoring.Other duties as assigned.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Education, Educational Leadership, Counseling, Psychology, or related field.Demonstrated expertise in classroom management and schoolwide behavior systems.Experience providing adult coaching or facilitating professional development.Experience working with secondary students with behavioral or social-emotional needs.Knowledge of MTSS, PBIS, SEL, restorative practices, and evidence-based behavioral practices.Strong communication and collaboration skillsAPPLICATION PROCEDUREINTERNAL APPLICANTS:Submit resume and two letters of recommendation by Wednesday, March 18, 2026 to:Ms. Tracy WestAtherton Community Schools3354 S.
