Position Title: DIRECTOR OF INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNOLOGYDate Modified: April 2026FLSA Classification: ExemptReports To: Head of SchoolPosition Purpose: Directs and coordinates all technology operations and promotes innovative practicesEssential FunctionsProvides vision and leadership in developing technology initiatives for the school that align with the school's missionLeads faculty professional development when related to technologyPerforms basic trouble-shooting as neededCoordinates and manages the technology needs for annual TerraNova testingParticipates in the onboarding process for new employeesStays current with educational technology and best practices by maintaining membership in professional organizations and personal learning networksPromotes and supports educational innovative practices and student-centered activitiesMeets with teachers as needed to support tech initiatives and curriculum alignment with ISTE standardsWorks directly with all substitute teachers providing necessary technology and plansIn collaboration with the Administrative Team, updates annually the RUP and technology sections of the school handbooks Works collaboratively with the Director of IT Infrastructure to meet the technology needs of the schoolPerforms other duties as assigned in support of school operationsQualificationsAbility to communicate effectively with constituents from the entire school community. Demonstrated knowledge of the E-Rate program, including eligibility, application processes (Forms 470/471), compliance requirements, and funding management is desirableDemonstrated knowledge in managing hardware and software specific to the school.Pedagogical background to evaluate courseware for various classes.Previous supervisory and budgetary experience.Master's degree in Computer Science/Instructional Technology or related field or equivalent training and experience.Physical Requirements and Work EnvironmentFrequently lift up to 30 lb. of computer equipment.Crawl under or around furniture to install computer equipment.Climb ladders and reach to install computer wiring and perform other tasks.Works in standard office conditions and climate.
