Job Description:
**Description** Assist SAS Scientists with routine laboratory operations by preparing chemical solutions, samples for analytical testing, and performing daily calibration and verification of laboratory instrumentation. Maintain laboratory organization through proper storage, and management of equipment, reagents and standards. Monitor and replenish laboratory inventory, including ordering reagents, consumables, and other supplies as needed. Perform additional laboratory duties as assigned following appropriate technical training and in accordance with established laboratory procedures and safety protocols. **Laboratory Preparation & Setup (50%)** + Prepare chemical solutions, reagents, mobile phases and samples according to established procedures. + Set up and calibrate laboratory equipment and instruments before experiments. + Ensure proper labeling, storage, and handling of chemicals and materials. **Collaboration & Support (25%)** + Assist chemists and researchers with experimental procedures. + Support research & development through analytical testing including, but not limited to, titrations, viscosity analysis, solids testing, and standard and sample preparations for LC & GC. + Communicate results and technical issues with team members and supervisors. **Inventory & Supply Management (25%)** + Monitor inventory of chemicals, reagents, and general lab supplies. + Order and restock materials as needed. + Maintain proper storage conditions for chemicals and sensitive materials. **Qualifications** Associate's Degree in Chemistry, or related field + 6 - 12 months laboratory experience + Must be able to follow written directions. + Must have excellent communication skills (written & verbal). + Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other related software programs. + Must be able to work independently with some decision making ability, able to interact with chemists and management. + Must be able to weigh chemicals and products using analytical balances. + Must be able to measure and pipette accurate volumes of chemicals. Must be able to follow cGMP guidelines for good documentation practices.
