The purpose of this job is to ensure the daily, safe, efficient, and effective operations of all plant equipment and machinery in accordance with established policies and procedures and assist in construction of production and building facilities.Job QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED required.Experience with equipment maintenance required.Experience in stainless steel tig welding is preferred.Electrical experience or plumbing is a plus.Welding certificate from Vo-Tech trade school is a plus.Strong attention to detail to ensure that all jobs are completed.Pay Range: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)Shift Differential: $2.50 per hourJob DutiesSupport continuous improvement in all aspects of production through performing all duties as assigned by Maintenance Supervisor and Plant Management such as but not limited to:Examine, test, maintain and repair all physical plant machinery and equipment to assure safe and efficient operationsInspect and maintain cooling and heating systemsMaintain and repair pumps and valves as required by managementRecord and log maintenance repairs and inspectionsProcess work orders as assigned incorporating and prioritizing needs according to overall effect on plant operationsPerform preventive maintenance tasks for plant machinery and equipment, the physical plant, utilities and grounds to assure the safe and efficient operation in accordance with state, federal, local regulations and company proceduresRepair production facilities, including building, structure walls, floors, cabinets and fixturesFollow good housekeeping practices for maintenance and production areas such as washing, cleaning and maintaining tools and other equipment.Assist with tasks related to the maintenance, improvements, and safe conditions of facility and grounds, including snow and ice removal from company sidewalks and driveways, painting, and sanitation tasks.Operate lifts, industrial trucks and non-motorized pallet jacks as required.Assist in ensuring fundamental food safety and quality practices are maintained to achieve food safety and quality objectives and to support ongoing improvements of food safety programs.Job QualificationsGeneral electrical knowledgeAbility to operate industrial equipment such as hand wrenches, power tools, cutting torch, and tape measureAbility to drive and maintain a valid driver licenseAbility to utilize math skills, including a variety of calculationsAbility to legibly document data for record keeping purposesAbility to read and record data from various gaugesAnalytical ability related to complex information and problem solvingAbility to implement all safety procedures in accordance with established policies and proceduresAbility to understand and communicate technical information through use of written documentation or verbal presentationKnowledge of organizational methods and ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneouslyAbility to operate all plant and office equipment necessary to accomplish job duties such as computers, office telephones including voice mail features, printer/scanner, etc.Ability to work daily shift, weekends and extended hours as neededGeneral and specific knowledge and abilities in the following areas:Equipment knowledge, including bearings, shaft, bolt, nut, wrench and belt sizesAbility to recognize food safety violations or product quality issues and resolve immediately or, if unable to resolve, notify Plant Manager and/or the Quality Control Supervisor.Ability to assist other work-related areas as requestedIn the absence of a Maintenance Technician, other technicians or supervisors will cover the duties of the roleBasic Physical RequirementsApproximate: 10-Hour Day. Responsible for materials, equipment, company property, and work that is completed.Working Conditions and ExposuresGeneral manufacturing working conditions exist. Exposures include but are not limited to chemicals, caustic, temperatures ranging from freezing to extreme heat, noise, dust, and moving equipment/machinery. Occasional outside work with varying seasonal temperatures. Will be required to stand for extended periods of time on slippery tile and/or concrete floors.
