Actalent is hiring an Engineer III in the Medina, NY area!! Job Description This role involves applying a solid understanding of engineering and problem-solving theories and practices toward the development of new or enhanced products or processes. You will be responsible for creating service deliverables and infrastructure required to support initial product launch and lifecycle management. The position requires the ability to design machine tooling jigs, fixtures, gauges, and equipment used in the servicing process, and to check designs and drawings against general standards, design requirements, geometric tolerances, drafting practices, and the manufacturing process involved. Your work should be highly creative, of high quality, and offer wide latitude for independent judgment and perception with minimal supervision. Responsibilities Create new product development and lifecycle management service deliverables throughout the product lifecycle for medical device products involving hardware. Support new product platform releases and develop and implement service training, test equipment, tools, spare parts, and service manuals/instructions. Evaluate and make recommendations on product releases related to design for serviceability. Create or modify existing servicing processes and manuals to support repair or refurbishment of fielded products at multiple global sites or in the field. Work closely with the design team to select, develop, and implement technologies across all medical device development programs. Analyze key servicing metrics to identify and implement opportunities for improvement in service process quality, cost, or product reliability. Coordinate information flow between corporate and local/regional teams. Own Corrective and Preventive Actions related to the products' core teams supported using sound root cause analysis. Represent Technical Services on new product development and/or lifecycle management core teams. Independently plan, schedule, and lead cross-functional teams in detailed phases of the engineering work in a project. Approve the work of lower-level engineers and supervise other engineers or technicians. Essential Skills Proficiency in core engineering disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, software, and systems engineering. Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision. Strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills, good time management, and capability of analyzing and solving technical problems through innovative thought and application of sound engineering principles and root cause analysis. Understanding of GMP and quality system requirements. Ability to exercise independent judgment and draw conclusions based on available information. Ability to travel. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with change control methodologies and configuration management principles. Experience with test engineering and/or reliability engineering principles. Experience in the use of Lean Six Sigma tools. Bachelor's degree in a core engineering discipline such as mechanical, electrical, software systems, or manufacturing/process engineering. 3-5 years of experience. Medical device experience or other regulated industry experience preferred. Work Environment This position is hybrid with work hours from 9am-5pm. The role involves collaboration with both corporate and local/regional teams, providing a dynamic and engaging work environment. The dress code is business casual, and the position requires occasional travel. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Medina, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $63.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
