Underground Construction Crew Member

SummaryThis position will work with crews performing work in underground construction. Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Perform routine construction-related activities such as pulling a rope, climbing ladders, using common hand tools, manual digging with a shovel, cable handling, and general cleanupStock truck with materials to ensure an adequate supply for daily work assignmentsOrganize materials, tools, and equipmentSet up traffic control signs and conesFlag and/or direct traffic as neededComplete daily equipment safety inspections and maintenance checksAccurately complete all required company documentation for each assignment according to established company standards and procedures (i.e., timesheet, truck report, expense report)Perform work in a safe manner and comply with all established company safety policies and proceduresPerform other duties and tasks as assigned in order to help the team complete a project Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesAble to work 10+ hours in a day when necessaryWilling to work outside in varying weather conditionsAbility to work efficiently, independently, and collaboratively within a team environmentCapable of moving materials/equipment weighing up to 80 poundsAble to ascend/descend a ladder or pole to connect cables or for other tasksMust be reliable, responsible, and dependable with work attendance Required Education and ExperienceMust have at least two years of driving experience along with no major driving infractions in the previous three years Preferred Education and ExperienceTwo (2) years of construction experienceHigh school diploma or equivalent certificationMust be willing and able to travel out of town with occasional overnight stays to assigned projectsMust be able to lift at least 50 pounds on an occasional basis Additional Eligibility QualificationsPass pre-employment drug test and criminal background screenComplete and pass a DOT Physical Physical DemandsThis position typically requires: balancing, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, grasping, reaching, stooping, squatting, kneeling, climbing, hearing, and talking.
