Production Operations I (Direct)-Contingent Worker

Summary: This role is specific to the McPherson, KS location. Shift: The typical working hours for this role are 6:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Thursday. Overtime hours may be available or even required according to business needs and within the parameters of any applicable federal/state laws. Responsibilities: Assemble components according to blueprints, routers, work orders, checklists, and specifications to build, assemble, and test parts and finished goods that meet quality standards in an accurate and timely fashion. Accurately complete assembly checklists. Monitor stock bins in work area and report stock needs to Shop Floor Lead(s). Ensure a safe and healthy work environment by following company standards and procedures. Other duties as assigned. Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Ability to read, write, and communicate in English. Stand and/or walk for 10 hours a day, with minimal breaks. Lift and/or move up to 25 pounds independently or up to 50 pounds with assistance. Vision abilities include close and distance vision, color distinction, and observing small handwriting, labels, and components. Always required to wear steel-toed shoes and safety glasses. Required to wear hearing protection in designated areas. Position requires on-site presence during scheduled shift to perform daily duties and responsibilities. Requires daily face-to-face interaction and communication with employees on production line and management. Required Skills: Ability to work effectively unsupervised. Strategic and creative thinking to analyze issues and create solutions. Ability to respond positively to feedback and implement change in process and procedures as needed. Basic math skills. Ability to understand and interpret drawings, BOMs, and procedures. Work Environment: Work on the production shop floor that does not have controlled temperatures and will vary based on weather conditions. Occasionally exposed to fumes and minimal to moderate noise.
