Job Description:
PurposeThe Advanced Placement Testing Proctor for MCHS will provide test administration consistency and supervision of all AP tests during the first three weeks of May. The proctor will work with the district AP Testing Coordinator to obtain, organize, and secure daily testing materials and oversee their use by students. The AP proctor will also work with other proctors to successfully administer each AP test according to College Board guidelines.Terms of Employment:Responsible To: Assistant Superintendent for Learning and AP CoordinatorLocation: Upper / Freshman CampusCalendar: Temporary for AP testing window (May 4 - May 22)Daily Schedule: Varies; depends on daily tests (approx. 6:30 am - 4:00 pm)Hours Per Day: Up to 9.5 hours with a 45-minute unpaid lunchHourly Rate $20.00 per hourBenefits: Not eligible for benefits as this is a temporary position.Attendance for all the above dates is a mandatory requirement for this position. Should an emergency arise in which the Advanced Placement Testing Proctor is unable to attend one of the above-mentioned days, the Advanced Placement Testing Proctor must contact the Building Principals and AP Coordinators immediately so a replacement can be found. One year of employment in this temporary position is not a guarantee for continued employment in this temporary position. Minimum Qualifications:Illinois State Board of Education active Paraprofessional, Substitute, or Professional Educators License is required.Must have flexibility to vary hours, start and end times during AP Testing weeksMust be able to read and follow written and verbal directionsExperience in the use of technology and the use of Office Word/Excel/Publisher/Mac and the district's Student Information SystemSome post-secondary education(preferred)Strong communication and public speaking skillsAbility to work positively with other district personnelAbility to take initiative in coordinating and organizing testing activitiesAbility to accurately collect, organize, and maintain secure materials and information for AP CoordinatorsMust have reliable transportationResponsibilities / DutiesCompletely read and understand the provided proctor packetPick up tests from the secure location at Upper/Freshman and return at the end of the dayPrepare examination room and test materials before examinees arriveDistribute testing materialsSupervise the testing of large groups of studentsEnsure there is proper spacing between the examinees' seats per the AP testing guideAdmit students to the testing room and take attendanceRead general instructions before each exam Read exam-specific instructionsSupply pens, pencils, calculators, and extra paper as necessaryKeep track of testing time and indicate time remaining to students per the AP testing instructionsGuard against attempts at cheatingKeep the room and exam materials attended at all timesCollect and account for all exam materials before dismissalDismiss students, making sure they do not take any exam materials from the exam roomOther duties as assigned by AP Coordinators or Building PrincipalsPhysical Requirements:Requires the ability to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of timeAbility to move freely and perform duties in numerous locations throughout the day (involving the ability to stoop, bend, and reach as needed)Ability to occasionally move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materialsExposure to noise and activity of a school setting
