Maintenance / Janitorial Associate (Warehouse)

Department: Operations Reports To: Lead Janitor / Facilities Supervisor Location: Warehouse Facility FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Position Summary The Maintenance / Janitorial Associate supports overall warehouse cleanliness, organization, and facility upkeep. This role works closely with the Lead Janitor to ensure a safe, clean, and efficient environment for all team members. In addition to janitorial responsibilities, this position operates a sit-down forklift to assist with waste removal, pallet movement, and facility organization. This individual embraces facility maintenance as a critical function of warehouse operations and is willing to go above and beyond to support the team. Key Responsibilities Janitorial & Facility Support Assist the Lead Janitor with all daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks Dump trash and recycling throughout the warehouse and office areas Break down cardboard boxes and manage recycling processes Clean restrooms, break rooms, common areas, and high-traffic warehouse zones Sweep, mop, scrub, and maintain warehouse floors Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies Respond promptly to spills and safety hazards Support facility inspections and compliance readiness Warehouse & Organizational Support Operate a sit-down forklift to move pallets, trash bins, and materials Transport cardboard and waste to designated compactors or disposal areas Assist with organizing work areas and maintaining clear aisles Support basic facility maintenance tasks as needed Help maintain safety standards in accordance with OSHA guidelines Qualifications Previous janitorial or warehouse maintenance experience preferred Sit-down forklift experience required (certification preferred or ability to obtain certification) Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly Comfortable working in a warehouse environment (non-climate controlled) Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining a clean facility Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to assist across departments Skills & Competencies Reliability and strong work ethic Safety-focused mindset Ability to work independently and follow direction Positive attitude and willingness to support team needs Strong time management and organizational skills Physical Requirements Standing and walking for extended periods Frequent bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling Operating powered industrial equipment Why This Role Matters A clean and organized warehouse directly impacts safety, productivity, and client satisfaction.
