Our mission is to ensure that every patient receives compassionate and comprehensive care in a supportive environment.About the RoleThe Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will play a crucial role in delivering primary care services, examining patients, and collaborating with healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient outcomes.ResponsibilitiesExamine patients to obtain information about their physical conditionProvide narrative summaries in EMR to communicate patient information to other health care providersExplain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patientsObtain, compile and record patient medical data, including health history, progress notes and results of physical examinationOrder, perform, and interpret tests and analyze records, reports, and examination information to diagnose patients' conditionPerform therapeutic procedures, such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, and infection managementProvide physicians with assistance during complicated medical proceduresPrescribe or administer treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injuryPrescribe medication dosages, routes, and frequencies based on patients' characteristics such as age and genderAdvise patients concerning diet, activity, hygiene, and disease preventionMonitor patients' conditions and progress and reevaluate treatments as necessaryRefer patients to medical specialists or other practitioners when necessaryDirect and coordinate activities of students, assistants, and other medical staffUse masks, gloves and safety glasses to protect themselves and their patients from infectious diseasesCheck Peach Tree Healthcare e-mail and NextGen PAQ dailyParticipate in Peer Chart Review; Act on any directives from the QI/QA Committees, Risk Management Committee, or Board of DirectorsParticipate in Clinical Outcome Improvement PlanProvide focused and/or comprehensive primary care according to standardized procedures and under the supervision of a physicianAssess patients, initiate treatment, and assess the effectiveness of therapy and the patient's progressFunction under approved standardized procedures, in collaboration with the supervising physician(s)Participate in the development and review of standardized proceduresPractice within his/her scope of practice and the scope of practice of the supervising physicianApply a comprehensive knowledge of primary care or specialty care to treatment of illnessesOrder appropriate diagnostic, screening, and follow-up studies and testing as indicated by the patient's illnessUtilize knowledge of pharmacology when prescribing medicationsMake referrals to community based resources, as neededUtilize physician consultation or referral for any patient, task, procedure, or diagnostic problem that the mid-level provider determines exceeds his/her level of competenceMaintain and enhance competency through in-services, staff meetings and educational programsMeet state licensing requirements for continuing medical educationParticipate in Re-credentialing every 2 yearsAbide by all HIPAA and Compliance requirementsParticipate in Student Intern or Job Shadow Programs as applicableThe provision of emergency services for patients when necessaryPerform other related medical duties as requiredAbide by all terms and conditions of the employment contractOccasionally may travel to other sites to attend meetings or training; occasionally overnight for trainingQualificationsDuly Certified with PTH privileges in good standingOverall knowledge of medical office patient careKnowledge of confidentiality issues involved with release of medical informationMust have excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to interact with staff and providers at other medical facilitiesRequired SkillsSpeakingActive ListeningReading ComprehensionTime ManagementWritingCritical ThinkingJudgment / Decision MakingManagement of Personnel ResourcesMonitoringComplex Problem SolvingScienceCoordinationService OrientationPreferred Skills2 years previous experience working as a Nurse Practitioner preferredMust have and maintain: California NP & RN Licenses, DEA License, BLS CertificationMust be graduate of an accredited college or university training programMust be licensed in accordance with the requirements of the Nursing board and applicable regulations of the Board of Registered NursesEqual Opportunity StatementPeach Tree Healthcare is an equal opportunity employer.
