Job Description:
The Division of Allied Health Sciences is seeking Part Time Hourly Instructors for our American Heart Association courses. As a part time AHA specialist, you work with students at a college to provide the knowledge and training they need to be successful in their chosen career. Your ability to work on a course-by-course basis gives you the flexibility to choose when you want to work and when you don't. Typical duties of AHA instructors include but aren't limited to: * Teach community & technical college students in a specific field of expertise and engage with students to help them learn. * Plan and execute the AHA curriculum * Grade students post AHA exams and practical skill evaluations * Properly fill out required rosters, skill evaluations, and other AHA paperwork * Advise students on how to be successful in class * Stay updated on innovations and changes within their course field Education * High School Diploma required * Associates Degree or higher preferred * American Heart Association (AHA) Instructor in BLS for Healthcare Providers required * American Heart Association (AHA) Instructor in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred Experience * 2 years of related experience in Healthcare (EMS, Nursing, etc.) preferred * 1-year related experience American Heart Association classes preferred * Teaching experience preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities * Ability to communicate clearly and concisely while speaking and in writing * Ability to teach utilizing real-world experience * Can utilize email and other AV equipment * Understands how to utilize the AHA resources * Demonstrated passion about academic field and education in general Position open until filled.
