A skilled pharmacist opportunity is available at a 200+ bed community hospital in Alexandria, LA. This contract role offers a dynamic work environment with a 13-week assignment and an ASAP start date. The position involves working a rotating schedule of four 10-hour shifts per week. Shift times may vary, including early mornings, day shifts, or evenings, with every other weekend on call. Key Responsibilities: Perform order verification to ensure accuracy and patient safety Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff Collaborate and consult with physicians and nursing staff regarding medication therapy Manage pharmacokinetic consultations to optimize dosing regimens Utilize IT systems such as EPIC and Pyxis for medication management Desired Qualifications and Experience: Valid pharmacist license in the state of Louisiana Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association Experience in hospital pharmacy practice, preferably in a community hospital setting Familiarity with EPIC electronic health records and Pyxis automated dispensing systems Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts per week Rotating schedule including possible shifts from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, or 12:30 PM to 11:00 PM Every other weekend on call This contract position offers competitive compensation and an opportunity to contribute to patient care in a supportive hospital environment.
