Annual summative evaluation completed prior to July 1. Purpose of the Position The Marion Next Gen Systems Specialist is responsible for implementing, supporting, and refining the core instructional and engagement systems of the Marion Next Gen Transformation Zone within an assigned building (Justice Marshall Intermediate School or McCulloch Junior High School). This role ensures that grant-aligned systems are consistently enacted at the classroom and team level, creating clarity for staff and improving outcomes for students. The Systems Specialist works in close collaboration with the Marion Next Gen Systems Lead, building principals, and school-based leadership teams to operationalize shared systems related to academic acceleration, student engagement and leadership, and AI-supported professional learning. This position exists to ensure that systems designed at the zone level are translated into daily practice with fidelity and consistency. Classified as Confidential Employee Functional responsibilities or knowledge related to district initiatives, grant implementation, and personnel support require strict adherence to confidentiality. Minimum Requirements The following qualifications represent the minimum requirements necessary to perform this position effectively: Valid Indiana teaching license or appropriate educational credential Demonstrated experience implementing instructional or organizational systems within a school setting Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to work collaboratively with building-level teams and leadership Strong attention to detail and follow-through Commitment to student-centered instructional decision-making is a must Preferred, but not required: Master's degree in area that contributes to overall goals Experience supporting school improvement, grant-funded initiatives, or instructional redesign efforts Essential Functions of the Position The following functions are essential to the successful performance of this position: Implement and support shared instructional, engagement, and professional learning systems within the assigned building Support system alignment across all three innovation pillars: ? ? ? Academic Acceleration (Literacy Studios, Math Labs, Tier 1 instruction) Student Engagement and Leadership (Leader Labs, Exploration Blocks) Al-supported PLC and feedback systems Work closely with the Marion Next Gen Systems Lead to ensure fidelity to zone-wide systems Collaborate with building principals and leadership teams to support consistent implementation Support walkthrough processes, feedback loops, and PLC protocols aligned to transformation priorities Assist in developing and maintaining system tools, documentation, and implementation guides Monitor system usage and identify implementation challenges within the building Support clear communication of expectations to teachers and staff Balance support and accountability to help teams implement systems effectively Participate in district- and building-level leadership meetings as required Secondary Functions of the Position The following functions are important but considered secondary: Perform other duties as assigned by the District Lead or Marion Next Gen Systems Lead Support cross-building collaboration and information sharing as requested Knowledge of Instructional systems and school improvement practices Professional learning communities and coaching structures Data-informed instructional decision-making Marion Community Schools strategic priorities Applicable Indiana Department of Education guidelines Instructional and educational technology tools Ability to Implement systems with consistency and attention to detail Communicate clearly with teachers, leaders, and colleagues Collaborate effectively within a team-based leadership structure Use professional judgment while aligning to established systems Maintain confidentiality and professionalism Build trust through reliability, clarity, and follow-through Equipment Used General office equipment (computer, telephone, copier, etc.) Instructional and data management technology Place Where Work Is Performed Assigned school building (Justice Marshall Intermediate School or McCulloch Junior High School) District meeting locations as required Physical Demands Ability to sit or stand for extended periods Ability to move throughout the school building Ability to hear and speak clearly How This Job Description Was Developed This job description was developed by Marion Community Schools in alignment with the Marion Next Gen Transformation Zone grant initiative.
