Maintenance Mechanic

Summary of Position:The entry level Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair & maintain production & facility equipment according to safety, predictive & productive maintenance systems & processes to the to support the achievement of the site's business goals & objectives.Duties Of PositionPerform highly diversified duties to install & maintain production machines & the plant facility's equipmentProvide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production & performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine servicePerform simple machinist duties & responsibilitiesPerform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting & repair of production machinesRead & interpret equipment manuals & work orders to perform required maintenance & serviceDiagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test & make adjustmentsPerform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment & plant facilitiesUse a variety of hand & power tools, electric meters & material handling equipment in performing dutiesAdhere to all safety policies; identify & report unsafe co nditions to SupervisorMaintain a safe clean & organized work areaOther duties as assigned by supervisorEducation RequirementsCertificate in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance preferred.High school diploma/GED & completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education & production maintenance experience.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesAbility to use calipers, micrometers, tape measures, etc., with precisionAbility to work on teams or aloneAbility to read & perform basic mathematicsBasic computer skillsWorking ConditionsMay be exposed to loud noises, dirt, dust & fumes; moving mechanical parts & vibrationProduction floor is not temperature controlled year roundPhysical RequirementsMust be able to lift &/or move minimum 75 pounds for most machineryThis position is very active & requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, & climbing all daySpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception & ability to adjust focusMachines/Equipment UsedVarious production equipmentVarious hand & power toolsFMEArnold Magnetic Technologies is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of any legally protected status or characteristic.
