Position Summary: The Technical Services position will ensure that the competitors are following the rules and regulations of the sanctioning body at race events during the season. It requires the ability to read, interpret, and enforce the technical rulebook. Technical Services employees are needed at races within the Southeast Division (D2). The Division has racetracks located in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. As a member of the Technical Services Team, you will be an essential part of the guest experience. Your job will be to keep our fans, racers, and crew members safe and informed while still maintaining a fun and friendly atmosphere. This This entails work which can include long hours (12+) outside in extreme weather, and in a fast-paced environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Oversee competitor compliance with sanctioning body rules and regulations during race events Accurately read, interpret, and apply the technical rulebook to on-site situations Conducts technical inspections of competitor's equipment in accordance with sanctioning body rules and regulations Conducts testing to ensure compliance with sanctioning body rules and regulations Minimum Skills and Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age A prior background in motorsports is highly preferred Must be flexible with meal and rest periods Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, push, pull, run, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 pounds as needed Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable under NHRA insurance policy Must arrive on time and ready to work at shift start Enforce all facility policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for all guests Must be able to work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results Ability to read, follow, and understand verbal and written instructions Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, racers, crew members, and guests Ability to work well within a team and independently Must be able to handle sounds at a high volume Travel is required within the region - Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina Equal Opportunity Statement NHRA is an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, gender identity, marital status, veteran/military status, or any other protected class under federal/CA law, offering reasonable accommodations.
