Neurology Nurse Practitioner

Annual Salary: $120k-$155k (varies depending on years of experience)A respected healthcare organization is seeking a Nurse Practitioner with a strong interest in adult neurology to join a collaborative outpatient team. This role focuses on supporting patients with a wide range of neurological conditions in both ambulatory and inpatient settings. The ideal candidate will have a passion for neuroscience, a commitment to patient-centered care, and the ability to work closely with neurologists and interdisciplinary teams.Key Responsibilities:Conduct comprehensive neurological assessments, including detailed histories and focused physical exams.Evaluate and manage patients with conditions such as epilepsy, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis, migraines, and neurodegenerative diseases.Order and interpret neurodiagnostic tests (e.g., EEG, MRI, CT, EMG) in collaboration with supervising physicians.Document findings and treatment plans in the EMR using evidence-based neurology guidelines.Prescribe and manage medications for neurological conditions, adjusting treatment based on patient response and side effects.Provide education and counseling to patients and families regarding neurological diagnoses, treatment options, and long-term care strategies.Participate in care coordination with referring providers, primary care teams, and allied health professionals.Support inpatient rounding and discharge planning for neurology patients as needed.Requirements:Current licensure and certification as a Nurse Practitioner in New York State.Prior experience or strong interest in neurology or internal medicine preferred.Excellent clinical judgment and communication skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
