Salary: $48,282.00 AnnuallyLocation : Manteo, NCJob Type: Full-timeJob Number: 2026-00837Department: DSS AdministrationOpening Date: 03/23/2026 About the Position Performs advanced skilled human support work monitoring the allocation of childcare funding; conducting intake, processing and case management, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Senior Social Worker Supervisor. Job Duties Monitors the allocation of childcare funding; assesses and evaluates the need for additional funds or services. Processes applications to determine eligibility for services; conducts thorough reviews; handles intake, processing and ongoing case management.Interprets and implements new policies from the Division of Child Development; develops and updates local policies as needed.Coordinates childcare services with agency Social Workers.Monitors annual contracts, monthly attendance rosters and private pay rates for enrolled childcare providers.Performs other assigned duties. Position Qualifications Thorough knowledge of budgeting and finance. Thorough knowledge of programs available to disadvantaged persons in need of childcare assistance. General knowledge of childcare practices and techniques. General knowledge of children's developmental and social growth expectations and needs; ability to develop a budget and prepare financial reports. Ability to analyze social programs for effectiveness and make modifications as necessary. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with parents, staff, associates, and program participants.
