Job Summary Supervise a shift that typically consists of Student Patrol Officers, Student Communications Officers, an EMT, and a Parking & Traffic Services Supervisor or Officer to ensure protection of persons and property; enforcement of laws, ordinances and regulations; and responses to criminal, medical, mechanical, weather related and other emergencies at Minnesota State University, Mankato. Maintain a high level of public relations and effective communications with members of the University Community. This position provides primary direction and decision making during incidents on campus until relieved by a higher authority. This position is weather essential as determined by management of MSU during inclement weather and other emergency periods as declared by the Commissioner of Minnesota Management and Budget (MMB) and/or the President of the University consistent with MnSCU Board Policy 4.4 Weather/Emergency Closings Part 2., Subpart A., No. 2.: Minimum Qualifications At least two (2) years of experience as a Security Patrol Officer, Crime Prevention Officer, or Peace Officer. Associate's degree in Law Enforcement, Paralegal or related field may substitute for one (1) years of experience; Bachelor's degree in above areas may substitute for two (2) years of experience. Shall pass background check free from convictions of felony and/or misdemeanors or other trust violation information. Possess a valid Minnesota Driver's License or obtain one prior to appointment.
