Our firm specializes in transitional and Ground up development and opportunistic lending, providing tailored financing solutions to sponsors in urban markets nationwide.Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Junior Analyst with at least 2 years of experience in real estate credit to support our originations team in pre-screening and evaluating incoming loan opportunities. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and market research skills, and a solid foundation in underwriting and real estate fundamentals.Key Responsibilities:Pre-screen incoming loan submissions for completeness, sponsor quality, and alignment with JLJ Capital's investment criteriaConduct initial underwriting, financial analysis, and valuation across all major asset classes including multifamily, industrial, office, and hospitalityPrepare concise deal summaries and underwritten snapshots for internal pipeline reviewPerform market and submarket analysis to support investment assumptionsAssist with the collection and review of borrower materials, third-party reports, and sponsor background informationMaintain an organized deal pipeline and assist with investment committee prepSupport originators and senior credit team members in due diligence and structuring recommendationsQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance, Economics, or a related fieldMinimum 2 years of experience in commercial real estate credit, preferably at a lender, debt fund, or investment firmProficiency in Excel and financial modeling, including cash flow modeling and sensitivity analysisWorking knowledge of real estate capital structures and lending metrics (LTV, LTC, DSCR, debt yield)Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced, transaction-oriented environmentPreferred Skills:Exposure to bridge and construction lendingFamiliarity with loan documentation, closing workflows, and third-party diligence coordinationExperience using Argus, CoStar, Trepp, or similar toolsCompensation & Benefits:Competitive base salary and discretionary bonusHealth, dental, and vision insurance401(k) planOpportunity to grow into a full originations or asset management role within JLJ Capital
