Job Title: Raw Materials SpecialistLocation: Manhattan, NY (Hybrid)Duration: ContractJob Description:OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented Raw Materials Specialist to support fabric and trim development within the intimates category. This individual contributor role is responsible for ensuring the quality, consistency, and technical integrity of fabrics, colors, and components from development through production.This position partners closely with Design, Product Development, and Textile Technology teams to manage raw material execution, maintain accurate records, and uphold brand standards across all materials.Key ResponsibilitiesRaw Material Development & ExecutionSupport the development of fabrics, trims, and colors across knit and woven materials for intimates productsAssist in technical development from concept through pre-production and bulk executionEnsure all materials meet quality, performance, and aesthetic standardsColor & Fabric Quality AssuranceEvaluate and maintain color consistency and fabric quality across development stagesConduct regular store visits to assess materials under retail lighting conditions and ensure alignment with brand standardsIdentify and escalate inconsistencies, partnering cross-functionally to resolve issuesPLM & Material ManagementMaintain accurate and up-to-date records within PLM systemsTrack development timelines, approvals, and material specificationsManage both physical raw material libraries and digital documentation with a high level of organizationCross-Functional CollaborationPartner daily with Design, Product Development, and Technical teams to support material readinessCommunicate updates, risks, and timelines effectively across stakeholdersParticipate in frequent meetings and ongoing follow-ups to ensure project alignmentOperational SupportAssist in cataloguing and organizing all fabrics, trims, and color standardsSupport the Manager of Textile Technology in driving material execution and process consistencyProvide guidance to junior team members or assistants as neededQualificationsBachelor's degree in Textile Technology, Materials Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)3-5 years of experience in raw materials, fabric development, or textile technologyExperience supporting intimates or apparel categories, with strong exposure to knits and wovensFamiliarity with PLM systems and material tracking processesStrong understanding of fabric construction, color development, and garment componentsTop Skills RequiredTechnical SkillsRaw materials development (knits, wovens, trims)Color development and fabric quality evaluationPLM systems and digital material trackingPhysical and digital raw material library managementSoft SkillsStrong written and verbal communicationHigh level of organization and attention to detailAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentProactive follow-up and cross-functional coordination
