Legal Billing Specialist (Hybrid) - Midtown Manhattan, NY (Must have Aderant or Elite3E Experience) Contract to Hire | $30hr - $40hr (DOE)We are partnering with a prestigious firm in Midtown Manhattan to hire a Legal Billing Specialist. This is a high-visibility, client-facing role responsible for managing the full lifecycle of client billing and engagement operations. You'll work closely with partners and a small, collaborative team to ensure a seamless billing process and exceptional client experience.Key Responsibilities:Manage the full billing cycle, including onboarding, engagement setup, invoicing, collections, and reportingPrepare and review monthly draft bills, resolve discrepancies, and finalize invoices in collaboration with partnersEnsure compliance with client-specific billing guidelines and firm policies, including e-billing requirementsServe as a key point of contact for clients and accounts payable teams, maintaining professionalism and responsivenessSupport collections efforts by monitoring outstanding balances and resolving delinquent accountsReview and maintain accurate client and matter data within internal systemsAdminister engagement letters, ensuring timely issuance, accuracy, and proper executionRespond to billing and time entry inquiries, partnering with attorneys and internal stakeholdersAssist with WIP and A/R adjustments, write-offs, refunds, and reporting requirementsMaintain organized records in accordance with firm policies and regulatory standardsWhat We're Looking For:3-6+ years of legal billing experience, preferably within a law firm or professional services environmentStrong understanding of billing cycles, WIP, A/R, and collections processesExperience with e-billing platforms and client billing guidelinesHigh attention to detail with strong organizational and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentExcellent communication skills with a confident, professional presenceWhy This Opportunity:High-impact role with direct exposure to partners and clientsHybrid flexibility in a prime Midtown Manhattan locationCollaborative, team-oriented environmentCompetitive compensation and long-term growth potential
