About the Job Estimator in Metal Fabrication: (This is NOT a remote position).Prepares quotes for metal fabrication. Analyzes RFQ requirements, technical drawings and associated specifications. Self-motivated, financially accountable with top line customer responsibility. Able to work independently with minimal supervision Skills/Qualifications:Must have at least seven (7) years of experience in the same or similar role. Extensive metal fabricating print reading skills and the ability to interpret/analyze specifications and tolerances. Knowledge of metal fabrication processes. Attention to detail. Ability to effectively communicate with customers, suppliers, and colleagues. Ability to work with customers and develop new relationships. Job Duties:Compute costs of materials, purchased items, fabrication processes and time requirements. Solicit and collect material costs. Identify optimal material utilization and fabrication methods. Establish fabrication rates and options for fabrication methods. Maintain metrics related to quality and timeliness of estimates and win/loss ratios. Review and recommend updates to work center rates and rate tables. Review job costing to establish accuracy of estimates and process.
