CDL Waste Collection Driver

South Lake Refuse & Recycling, a Waste Connections company, is excited to announce an opening for a CDL Waste Collection Driver! Join our dynamic team and help us provide reliable waste collection services. Schedule: Monday - Friday, starting at 4 AM. Enjoy 8 - 10 hour workdays with occasional Saturdays as needed. Compensation: Starting pay ranges from $25.50 to $28.50 per hour, commensurate with your experience. Duties and Responsibilities: Safely operate a garbage truck on designated routes for solid waste collection. Utilize a tablet system to read route sheets and service each customer as assigned by the dispatcher. Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance, including checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires. Engage in physically demanding tasks, including loading and unloading, often without assistance. Interact courteously with customers while performing your duties. Complete additional job-related tasks as required. Working Conditions and Physical Effort: This role involves extensive physical activity, including heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling of materials over 50 pounds. Work may involve exposure to physical risks, necessitating adherence to basic safety precautions. Outdoor work exposure includes varying weather conditions, possible fumes, and vibrations; noise levels are typically moderate. Minimum Job Requirements: Valid Class B license with airbrakes endorsement; Class A preferred. Clean driving record. Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate effectively in English; high school diploma or equivalent preferred. A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience related to the described duties.
