Job Description:
The RoleProvides support to the Fertigation Department to ensure the activities and operations of the Grow Department, while abiding by policies, procedures and operational guidelines. Essential functions: Follow all operational guidelines, verbal directives, training information and policies when performing dutiesConduct temperature monitoring, dissolved oxygen monitoring, and mixing concentration tanksParticipate in ECA PPM tests for fertigation tanks and Flower rooms, testing and maintenance ECA skid concentrations, and testing of nutrient concentrations as assignedComplete daily checks to monitor assets and troubleshoot issues as neededTrack daily water usage, monitor water softener, and function as a subject matter expert on all fertigation equipment as assignedMonitor and stock nutrients and appropriate chemicalsCleaning of work area (dusting tanks, plumbing, mopping, etc.) to ensure complianceStocking of nutrients and monitoring nutrient stock levels in the storehouseDocument all activities, inspections, and test results accurately and submit reports as requiredPerform preventative maintenance on fertigation systems, including cleaning filters and calibrating equipmentCapable of navigating user interface on all pumpsComplete leak audits (i.e., checking of all PVC unions and couplings for leaks)Working with facilities and maintenance on problems, issues, and PMsAssist with the implementation of new systems or upgrades to improve efficiency and complianceMaintain open communication with management team and co-workersReport employee issues or product situations through appropriate escalation protocolAbide by GTI and grow department's safety policies and proceduresWorking ConditionsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform reaching, grasping, bending, stooping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motionsMust be able to repetitively climb ladders and/or stairs and work from elevated platforms Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time while maintaining focusMust be able to lift, carry, and balance up to 50 pounds (and up to 100 pounds with assistance) AND must be able to do so with extreme care and caution when working with productMust be able to work in an environment that is 85+ degrees and 70% humidity for extended periodsMust be able to work at heightsMay be exposed to equipment with elevated decibel levels and must wear hearing protection where it is requiredRequires ability to wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) for the job, including respirators, gloves, and safety gogglesRegularly handle and work around a variety of chemicals that require compliance with safety data sheets and appropriate safety protocolsAbility to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environmentWork involves daily exposure to allergens (such as cannabis, tree nuts, and coconut oil)QualificationsKnowledge and adherence to the policies, procedures and goals of the companyAbility to listen well and communicate effectively orally and in writing with various audiences, especially with direct supervisors and co-workersAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all employeesBasic math skillsUnderstand applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations as they pertain to the industry, personnel law, safety regulations, local municipal codes and organizational rules, regulations, directives and standard operating proceduresAbility to work independently throughout a workday with given directivesPrior cannabis experience not requiredAdditional RequirementsMust be at a minimum of 21 years of ageMust possess valid state IDMust be able to obtain, and maintain, state badging requirements to work in the cannabis industry (requires background check and state review)
