The director establishes and or maintains a scope of services based on the needs of the population served and available resources, providing space, staff, training and development, to ensure continuous care occurs. The director plans for strategic, operational, and programmatic processes that direct the department in accordance with customer needs and mission of the facility. The manager will integrate all services into the organizations primary function.Essential Functions:Develops, revises, and reviews all departmental policy and procedures that guide and support the provision of services including collaboration with other departmentsDevelops and implements processes for recruitment and retention that allow for appropriate staffing levels and skill mixDevelops and supervises clinical education programsFormulates, implements, and assesses quality and performance improvement programsEstablishes and monitors equipment, supply, and inventory programsFormulates, prepares, and monitors an annual operating and capital budgetAssures that all functions performed by the department are in compliance with patient rights and ethical standards and regulatory agenciesResponds appropriately to customer concerns/satisfaction and develops departmental action plans as indicateReviews all initial and annual competencies/ appraisals of clinical staffParticipates in management groups, facility committees/teams, and professional/medical community organizationDevelops and implements systematic and effective mechanisms for communication within the campus (hospital, ACB,HCOC)Assures current CDM for the department and that all regulations for charging, billing, and coding practices are followedOther Functions:Shares and or delegates administrative responsibilities as neededCollaborates with the community in regards to health care issues or needsEstablishes and assures continuum of care for all servicesProvides administrative/clinical supervision in the form of coaching, counseling, and discipline as indicatedAssesses for space and other needed resources making recommendations for acquisitionCompletes initial and annual competencies/appraisals for supervisory and Dept. Support Assistant by due date Develops programs to assure staff orientation, training, and developmentPerforms monthly supervisory meetings and rounding with direct reports and on patientsAssists in the administration of patient care (within scope of practice) as neededMaintains compliance with all company policies, procedures and standards of conductComplies with HIPAA privacy and security requirements to maintain confidentiality at all timesPerforms other duties as assignedAdditional Job Description:Education:Bachelor's Degree in health related field (required)Master's Degree in health sciences (PT, OT, SLP) (required)Doctoral Degree in health related field (preferred)Experience:Five (5) or more years as a clinical therapist with two or more in a supervisory or managerial role (required)
