Definition: Drive one of the city's 6+ passenger vehicles with customers to a variety of destinations for activities sponsored by the city. Principal Duties: • Ability to drive safely and authorize a check of their driving record. • Knowledge of all driving safety rules and city guidelines. • Ability to inspect, clean and fuel vehicle before leaving and at the conclusion of the trip. • Drive passengers to and from specified destination in a safe and law-abiding manner. • Demonstrate good interpersonal skills in order to interact with passengers. • Driver must record destination and mileage information. • Driver must follow trip specifications as outlined by the supervisor. • Performs essential duties and additional tasks in a manner which enhances City Attributes. Working Environment: Work is typically performed in all types of outdoor environment, requiring exposure to extreme heat, cold and wet weather conditions. Conditions are primarily in and around vehicles. Some exposure to dry, dusty, and noisy environments as well as fumes, smoke or gases. Requires some moderate lifting (15 - 49 pounds). Work requires physical and visual capabilities to operate passenger vehicles and vans. Must be able to sit for extended periods. Must be able to read, write, and understand directions. Qualifications: Safe driving practices. Driver must be at least 21 years of age and be able to produce documentation of bus/van driving experience.
