Job Description:
Electronics TechnicianDescription: As an Electrical Engineering Technician at UPT, you will play a key role in driving the development, and testing of electrical equipment for multiple projects, involving a multidisciplinary team of research and development engineers and support staff. You will work under the direction of our Sr. Engineering Staff and Program Managers. Occasional travel between UPT sites (Charlotte/Locust). Working in an office environment with hands-on electrical engineering work in lab or warehouse.Duties/Responsibilities: Ability to complete a technical project independentlyReview customer specifications and requirements and develop designs to best support themEvaluate supplier components and subsystems to meet requirementsAssemble and test prototypes to retire key development risksCommunicate clearly (written and oral) with all stakeholders Provide technical assistance to other engineers and support personnelSupport, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organizationSkills/Qualifications:Experience working with program management and engineering to meet product specifications and engineering standards. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to all stakeholdersExperience prototyping and testing both AC/DC, power, digital circuits, and controls electronicsExperience in integration and testing of electrical systems and sensorsExperience in Microsoft Office SoftwareAbility to multitask and handle changing work assignments, schedules, and prioritiesMust be able to pass a background check and drug screenMust be a US CitizenEducation/Experience Requirements:Associates with 4+ years of relevant hands-on experience assembly and test of analog/digital circuits, control systems and power conversionUnderstanding of SBIR and military R&D process preferred Experience with MIL-STD design and testing preferred
