Simulation Engineer (Manufacturing & Supply Chain)Duration: Contract (12+ months with potential extension)5+ years of experience in discrete event simulation within a manufacturing environmentJob SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Simulation Engineer to support advanced manufacturing and supply chain modeling initiatives. This role focuses on developing and applying discrete event simulation (DES) models to optimize production systems, improve operational performance, and enable data-driven decision-making. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in simulation tools, manufacturing processes, and data analysis, with the ability to collaborate across internal teams and external partners.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement discrete event simulation (DES) models for manufacturing and supply chain operations (line, plant, and network levels)Create standardized templates, tools, and methodologies for simulation modeling and reportingEstablish and maintain validation processes to ensure model accuracy and reliabilityAnalyze simulation outputs to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for operational improvementCollaborate with engineering, operations, and data teams to integrate data into simulation modelsSupport the development of digital modeling capabilities and advanced analyticsCoordinate with external vendors to support simulation development and project deliveryMaintain centralized documentation and libraries of simulation modelsProvide training and guidance to stakeholders on simulation tools and best practicesPresent simulation findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholdersRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Operations Research, or related field5+ years of experience in discrete event simulation within a manufacturing environmentHands-on experience with simulation tools (e.g., Siemens Plant Simulation or similar)Strong understanding of manufacturing systems and supply chain processesExperience with data analysis and integration techniquesKnowledge of programming or scripting languages (e.g., Python, SQL)Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsPreferred QualificationsAdvanced degree (Master's or PhD) in a related fieldExperience with digital twin technologiesFamiliarity with additional modeling or simulation toolsBackground in Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologiesExperience in automotive, battery, or advanced manufacturing environmentsProject management experience or certification
