Family Practice/Primary Care Nurse Practitioner

Position: Correctional Nurse Practitioner Location: Lebanon, OH 45036Shift : Standard ShiftDuration: Minimum 3 months (Full-time, 40 hours/week)Job Responsibilities:• Monitor and manage chronic illnesses using relevant correctional healthcare policies and protocols.• Administer vaccinations, prescribe medications, and treat acute and chronic patients; perform minor surgeries as trained and competent.• Conduct routine physical exams to assess control/status of chronic conditions and diagnose new health issues.• Evaluate and approve specialty referrals within or outside the institution; review consult reports and make recommendations.• Order and interpret laboratory, x-ray, and other diagnostic tests.• Collaborate with the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to complete medical reclassifications and requests for non-formulary medications.• Provide routine and emergency medical care as scheduled.• Examine, diagnose, and treat patients within the scope of practice defined by the Ohio Nursing Board.• Conduct rounds on infirmary patients as directed by the CMO.• Document all patient assessments, diagnostic impressions, treatment plans, and follow-ups per applicable correctional healthcare guidelines and standards.• Work cooperatively with CMO for medical quality oversight, accepting feedback and guidance.Required Documents:Ohio Medical LicenseANCC CertificationDrug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Certification
