Job Description:
Office Secretary Office Receptionist is responsible for providing clerical/administrative support to the Chief Probation Officer, Assistant Chief of Probation, and Office Manager. The Office Receptionist will also provide customer service support to clients and secretarial tasks related to office operations. Examples of duties include processing clients sentenced to probation, assigning clients to probation officers, maintaining databases, answering telephones, performing various clerical duties, reconciling funds, running court hearing reports, entering drug screen results, maintaining inventory, attending job-related training, and performing related duties as assigned. Typical qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, associates degree in business or related area preferred, working knowledge of department policies, strong data entry and computer skills, ability to type with speed and accuracy, knowledge of standard English grammar, ability to provide public access to or maintain confidentiality of department information, ability to work with others in a team environment, ability to competently serve the public with diplomacy and respect, ability to regularly work office hours and occasionally work extended and/or irregular hours, and maintaining current knowledge of changing technology, practices in probation and community corrections and evidence-based programs.
