Certified Surgical Technician

Position SummaryJoin our dedicated Surgical Services team as a Surgical Technologist and play an essential role in ensuring the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures. You'll support the operating room team before, during, and after surgery - helping maintain a smooth, patient-focused environment. Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare surgical suites with appropriate instruments, supplies, drapes, and equipment.Verify that all equipment and instruments are clean, functional, and ready for use.Assist with patient preparation, positioning, and draping under direction of the surgical team.Anticipate the needs of the surgeon by passing instruments and maintaining accurate counts throughout procedures.Handle and process specimens for delivery to the laboratory.Maintain strict adherence to sterile technique and infection control policies.Participate in departmental safety, education, and performance-improvement initiatives. QualificationsEducation: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred; Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program preferred.Experience: Minimum 6 months of surgical experience in a healthcare setting required.Certifications: BCLS preferred (or obtained within 30 days of hire).Skills:Strong attention to detail and ability to anticipate the needs of the surgical team.Excellent critical-thinking, communication, and teamwork skills.Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. Additional InformationPopulations Served: Neonate through older adult.PHI Access: Demographic, clinical, insurance, and full medical records.Exposure: Routine occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens and biological/chemical hazards.Physical Requirements: Frequent standing, walking, lifting/moving patients, and repetitive motion; occasional exposure to latex and hazardous medications. Why Join STRHS - Lawrenceburg?At Southern Tennessee Regional Health System - Lawrenceburg, we're proud of our strong team culture and commitment to surgical excellence.
