Up to $60,000 in additional incentives available: Recruitment Incentive: Up to $20,000, with $10,000 awarded upon successful completion of training and the additional $10,000 for accepting a prioritized location. Retention Incentive: Up to $40,000 distributed over the first four years. Comprehensive federal benefits including health, dental insurance, generous leave program, and retirement plans. Roles and Responsibilities: Engage in the enforcement of immigration and customs laws. Patrol international borders using various government assets. Conduct surveillance and apprehend undocumented individuals and smugglers. Perform inspections and checks in various contexts, including farms and transportation. Qualifications: GL-5 Grade: One year of general work experience demonstrating the ability to make sound decisions and maintain composure in stressful situations, or a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. GL-7 Grade: One year of specialized work experience in law enforcement. A bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement may also qualify. All applicants must be U.S. citizens, must have had primary U.S. residency for at least three of the last five years, and must apply before turning 40 years of age unless exempted. Training will be provided at the U.S. Border Patrol Academy in Artesia, New Mexico, which includes intensive instruction in various essential areas, including law enforcement and Spanish language proficiency.
