DescriptionSummary: Responsible for the day to day operation and direct supervision of all activities within the Purchasing department. Ensure daily operations and experiences meet guest expectations. Appropriately respond to and manage any escalated departmental concerns and guest and/or employee challenges. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Hire, train, develop, measure performance, discipline, and schedule department staff. Lead the tactical execution of strategic initiatives under the direction of division leadership. Establish standards of service within assigned department(s) and ensure achievement. Monitor and control labor within the department while maintaining adequate coverage in the department based on business demands. Negotiate with vendors for best quality, price and delivery. Develop and maintain professional relationship with vendors. Understand pars. Ensure consistency of ordering procedures. Maintain overdue reports for open P.O.s and follow up for resolution. Communicate with departments. Coordinate shipping. Able to investigate invoice variances and come to a resolution. Provide outstanding customer service in a timely manner to both guests and fellow team members. Performs other duties as assigned. Position RequirementsQualifications Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and or experience. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in casino purchasing. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (all software components), Material Management System/Stratton Warren, AS400. Effective negotiation skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Obtain and maintain all work cards as required by the company. Verify right to work in the United States. Work Cards Gaming Physical Requirements Frequently required to sit for long periods; occasionally walk and stand. Use hands to hold tools and/or equipment required for position. Reach with hands and arms. Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment Conditions The work environment is characterized as an office setting, where computers and standard office equipment will be supplied and used as part of the job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The immediate work environment is smoke free however, regular access to smoking areas is also part of the environment.
