Job Summary General Atomics Systems Integration, LLC (GA-SI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a provider of military and commercial engineering services. GA-SI is a leading-edge expert in systems integration technologies, reliability improvements, and controls system design. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Munitions Systems Manager to join our Aero Services Division in Las Vegas, Nevada. This position serves as the subordinate manager to the Manager, Munitions Systems, providing direct support and operational oversight for weapons loading and armament systems. Liaison Manager to the Manager, Munitions Systems ASI and assumes full authority in their absence. Responsible for day-to-day operations including timecard management, personnel coordination, and operational support for the design, engineering, production and testing of weapons systems, suspension systems and electronics integrated with Company aircraft and systems. Ensures compliance, continuity, and standardization in weapons integration activities. Provides technical and practical input to senior leaders and engineers in matters of weapons design, loading, build-up, storage, transportation, armament systems, technical documentation and training. Assists the Manager, Munitions Systems with all departmental functions and serves as primary contact for weapons-related matters in their absence. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILIITIES: Timecard Administration: Reviews, approves, and processes timecards for assigned weapons load crew and munitions personnel; coordinates timecard corrections with HR/payroll; ensures accurate and timely submission of all time and attendance records; monitors overtime and leave balances. Assumes full managerial authority for all weapons integration activities when the Manager, Munitions Systems is absent; provides day-to-day operational oversight and decision-making for personnel, equipment, and facility requirements. Provides advice and guidance based on organizational goals and company policy for weapons integration; assists in planning and coordinating activities to support delivery commitments of weapons carriage and delivery capabilities and weapons related products; requires Manager, Munitions Systems approval for major scheduling decisions affecting production delivery and flight test schedules. Provides operational oversight on personnel, equipment, facility and training requirements; trains subordinates who provide technical support and troubleshooting; coordinates daily work assignments of assigned staff. Assists in formulating weapons load crew specifications and formal training programs, including cross utilization training and certification program guidance; monitors implementation, training adaptations, and suggestion modifications. Interfaces with other departments (engineering, specialty engineering, integration, pilots, airframe and power plant maintenance, and mechanics) to ensure proper coordination of day-to-day operations and integration activities; coordinates safety programs to ensure adaptation to new weapons. Assists in formulating and recommending plans, policies, procedures and schedules; seeks methods to improve product quality, reliability and efficiency; assists in the inspection progress of finished products when requested. Recommends changes in working conditions, processes, policies, and use of related equipment to increase flexibility, adaptability, focused on safety and efficiencies especially at deployed locations. Assists in managing the deployment schedules of weapons technicians to support company and customer operations off-site. Assists in managing and providing supervisory oversight for compliance with MAJCOM and Department of Defense (DoD) policy and procedural directives relative to the procurement, storage, inspection, build-up, loading/downloading and accountability of DoD munitions. Represents the organization with outside vendors and/or customers as directed by the Manager, Munitions Systems. Participates in hiring, briefing, formal training and career progression of subordinate employees under the direction of the Manager, Munitions Systems. Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. Job QualificationsTypically requires a Bachelors degree in a related technical field and six or more years of progressive professional experience in weapons safety, handling, transportation, and installation. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education. Professional management and supervisory experience in U.S. military armament. Must demonstrate a broad based experience, skill, and knowledge of Department of Defense (DoD) policy and procedural directives relative to procurement, storage, inspection, build-up, loading/downloading, and accountability of DoD munitions. Must possess a strong working knowledge and understanding of weapons handling, maintenance, and accountability; leadership skills including organizing, planning, scheduling, and coordinating workloads to meet essential deadlines and milestones. Must be customer focused and demonstrate: The ability to resolve moderately complex technical and management issues; Strong verbal and written communication skills to accurately document, formally brief, report and present findings; (3) strong interpersonal skills to effectively interface with all levels of employees, management and customer or vendor representatives; (4) the ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information; and, (5) good computer skills. Ability to work independently and lead in a team environment is essential as is the ability to work extended hours and travel. Ability to obtain and maintain an adjudicated polygraph TS/SCI.
