In addition to the objective outlined in the AVH Registered Nurse (RN) Job Description, the Labor and Delivery (L&D) RN is responsible for providing nursing care for the antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patient guided by the policies and procedures of the unit. Duties and Responsibilities: Meets all the essential duties and responsibilities of the Registered Nurse (RN). Additional duties and responsibilities of the L&D RN: Provides accurate interpretation and documentation of fetal monitor tracing. Provides quality care with accurate assessment, interventions, and documentation to the low to high risk obstetrical patient during antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum period. Provides newborn care to the infant at delivery. Provides preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care of the obstetrical patient.
