Description: The position involves performing comprehensive eye examinations to assess vision and detect eye diseases. You will diagnose and manage ocular diseases and disorders, such as glaucoma and cataracts. Prescribing corrective lenses based on individual patient needs is essential. You will educate patients about eye health, vision correction options, and preventive care. Offering care for patients undergoing eye surgeries, including follow-up assessments, is required. Maintaining accurate patient records documenting interactions, treatment plans, and outcomes is necessary. The clinic operates two exam lanes with an average daily patient volume of approximately 12 to 14 patients. Appointment lengths range from 20 to 30 minutes depending on the visit type. Services provided include routine comprehensive eye examinations, acute evaluations for eye irritation and foreign bodies, glaucoma screening and treatment, and diabetic retinopathy screening utilizing an imaging system. Referrals to specialty ophthalmology services are part of the responsibilities of this role. Surgical services are not performed onsite. Support staff includes a Medical Support Assistant responsible for operating the imaging machine, managing eyeglass ordering and repairs, and providing general clinic support and coordination.
