Job Title: X-Ray Technician/MAReports To: Center ManagerSummary:The X-Ray Technician/MA will be responsible for assisting in examination and treatment of patients under direction of the Physician. Exer Core Responsibilities: Has a positive work ethic and inspires others; genuine, caring, and friendly behaviorsDemonstrates effective verbal and written communication that is clear, well-organized, and understanding of audience needsThrough a genuinely positive style of communication, makes each patient feel informed, understood, and special.Is an effective team player who contributes valuable ideas and feedback and can be counted on to meet commitments.Is able to keep up with the workflow of the Exer environment; faces tasks and challenges with energy and passionPursues activities with focus and drive, defines work in terms of success, and can be counted on to complete goalsAdherence to standards of business conduct and complianceMajor Responsibilities: Interviews patient and measures vital signs, including pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height; records information on patient's chartPrepares treatment rooms for patient examinationsDrapes patient with coverings, and positions instruments and equipmentHands instruments and materials to doctor, as directedCleans and sterilizes instrumentsInventories and orders medical supplies and materialsOperates X-ray, electrocardiograph (EKG), and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic tests, or calls medical facility or department to schedule patient tests.Gives injections or treatments and performs routine laboratory testsInputs data into computer to maintain office and patient recordsRequirements:Must have a current X-Ray Technician Limited Permit issued by the California Department of Public Health (expanded scope is ideal- to include digital radiography, chest, extremities, and torso-skeletal) is requiredMust be Medical Assistant certifiedMust have prior experience performing EKGs, blood drawing, vital signs and IM injections.Must be able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced work environmentMust have a neat and professional appearanceMust possess effective written and verbal communication skillsWorking Conditions:Center-Based. Requires working in a clinical setting. The noise level is moderate and there is a potential for exposure to infectious diseases and blood-borne pathogens. The ability to stand and sit for hours at a time, (with some bending and stooping), ability to use manual dexterity in relation to clinical requirements, and ability to lift 50 lbs.
