Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.A dynamic nursing opportunity awaits in Lakeside, MT, ideal for an RN with Medical-Surgical expertise seeking a contract role with a leading Level III Trauma Center. This acute care position is with a well-equipped hospital known for quality patient care and a supportive team environment.Responsibilities include caring for medically stable patients on a 40-bed Acute Care Unit, managing complex medical conditions such as COPD, CHF, kidney failure, sepsis, and more. Nurses will apply skills in epidural/PCA medication management, wound care, drainage, and post-surgical recovery while working within a 1:5-6 nurse-to-patient ratio. Team collaboration with RNs, CNAs, and shift supervisors ensures comprehensive patient care, alongside utilizing Meditech EMR for documentation and Pyxis for medications.Key Qualifications and Experience:Minimum 1 year of broad Medical-Surgical nursing experienceNIHSS and BLS certifications requiredCompetency in epidural/PCA medication management, chest tubes, ostomies, wound care, and post-op ortho careExperience or willingness to orient on surgical and oncology units as well as emergency medical overflow areasStrong teamwork, adaptability, and commitment to patient-centered careSchedule & Work Environment:12-hour shifts in 6-week rotational schedule (day and night shifts available)6 weekend shifts per rotation; holiday shifts distributed between day and nightSupportive team with 3-4 RNs and 2-3 CNAs per unit side, shift huddles, and bedside shift reportsFree parking with winter shuttle serviceLocation Insight:Lakeside, MT offers a serene small-town atmosphere set against the stunning backdrop of Montanas natural beauty.
