The Opportunity Company, Department: Nova Scotia Power, Vegetation Management Location: Lakeside, NS Type of Employment: Full-Time, Regular Closing Date: April 23, 2026 Key Elements Of This Role Include As Forester you will: Interface with internal technical staff and stakeholders to ensure the program is effectively implemented. Ensure compliance of the program at the Federal, Provincial and Municipal government level. Monitor invoicing, develop financial forecasts and ensure adherence to yearly budgets. Provide oversight of environmental concerns/constraints and customer/ landowner interactions. Provide contractor oversight, ensuring all safety and environmental processes are followed. Travel throughout Nova Scotia is a requirement with the potential for overnight stays. Support storm restoration efforts, as needed. You will be responsible for your personal safety and that of your co-workers, by observing and ensuring compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations. You will be accountable for environmental performance as it relates to the Environmental Management System processes and initiatives. These Skills Will Make You Successful Hold a degree in forestry from an accredited university or a diploma in forest technology from a recognized institution. Valid Nova Scotia Driver's License with a minimum of 2 years driving experience and provide a driver's abstract satisfactory to NSPI. Excellent interpersonal and listening skills and the ability to express yourself clearly and confidently. Capable of handling challenging customer situations and performing effectively under pressure while maintaining a high level of customer service. Able to work with minimum supervision, display excellent knowledge of company rules and regulations, and work in a safe and efficient manner. Proficient use of databases and tools such as Excel, mobile technologies, and ESRI applications including ArcPro and Field Maps Ability to adapt to changing priorities and adjust schedules as required. The following skills/ qualifications would be considered an asset: NS Herbicide Applicator Licence, International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) certification, Registered Professional Forester (RPF) designation.
