An individual designated as a "Floater" has a higher responsibility due to not having a set schedule, accepts assignments as needed, including last minute changes in assignments, and fills in vacant shifts on short notice.This role offers an exciting opportunity to support individuals with developmental disabilities, mental health needs, and aging-related conditions. The ideal candidate will be flexible, proactive, and committed to delivering high-quality care and support for individuals with diverse needs, including those with developmental disabilities, dementia, and other health challenges. As a Direct Service Worker, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for clients through personalized care and assistance.DutiesProvide direct support to residents by assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance.Monitor residents' health status by observing vital signs and reporting any concerns promptly to healthcare professionals.Assist with medication administration following HIPAA guidelines and care plans to ensure safety and compliance.Support residents during meals by preparing nutritious food, assisting with eating as needed, and maintaining a clean dining environment.Operate patient lifting equipment such as Hoyer lifts safely to transfer residents with mobility challenges.Engage clients in social activities that promote emotional well-being and cognitive stimulation.Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning common areas and resident rooms.Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure consistent delivery of personalized care tailored to each resident's needs.QualificationsPrior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, or home & community care environments is highly preferred.Knowledge of patient observation techniques, vital signs monitoring, and medication administration is essential.Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks associated with patient handling.Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of resident information.Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or memory impairments is desirable.Engage clients in social activities that promote emotional well-being and cognitive stimulation.Familiarity with first aid and CPR techniques is essential; certification is highly desirable.Strong communication skills coupled with a compassionate approach to caregiving are necessary for success in this role.
