Pharmacy Director | Koshkonong, Missouri

Lead the inpatient pharmacy services as Director of Pharmacy for a well-rounded healthcare facility specializing in diverse areas including OB, orthopedics, pediatrics, oncology, cardiology, pulmonology, neurology, adult behavioral health, and more. This contract opportunity is based in West Plains, Missouri, offering an important leadership role from July 7, 2026, to November 7, 2026. Location: West Plains, Missouri Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Key Responsibilities: Serve as Director of Pharmacy, overseeing inpatient pharmacy services and acting as the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) Develop and manage pharmacist and technician schedules Collaborate with the purchasing team to resolve medication supply chain issues Lead the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee: create agendas, conduct meetings, and execute approved initiatives Attend monthly medical staff and readmission reduction meetings Conduct monthly department meetings and daily weekday huddles for pharmacy staff Manage ordering of controlled substances twice weekly Oversee payroll and control user access to Pyxis systems Provide resource support to pharmacy staff for operational questions and concerns Potentially assist with sterile compounding as needed Qualifications and Desired Experience: Relevant inpatient pharmacy experience Active Missouri pharmacist license Medication Therapy Services certification Familiarity with Meditech Expanse order entry system preferred, including drug dictionary management Strong leadership and communication skills Additional Details: Staff includes 4.5 pharmacist FTEs and 6 technician FTEs Business casual or scrubs attire permitted Onsite training for two weeks prior to start date for knowledge transfer and smooth transition The facility anticipates a Joint Commission survey in fall 2026 This is a contract position suited for a proactive pharmacy leader ready to guide a multidisciplinary team through daily operations and strategic initiatives.
