About the Role: The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis is a key strategic finance leader responsible for driving the company's financial planning processes, performance management, and decision-support analytics. This role leads comprehensive financial planning cycles, builds scalable analytical frameworks, ensures accurate financial forecasting, and provides forward-looking insights that shape the company's strategy and execution. Qualifications (Required & Preferred): Education: (R) Bachelor's Degree Accounting or Finance; (P) MBA Experience: 10-15 years Accounting or Finance (R) 5 years in a manager role (R) Manufacturing Industry (R) Areas of Knowledge: Financial Planning & Analysis, (R) Accounting, (R) IT/PC skills (Excel /Word/ Power Point/Power BI) (R), Metals Industry (P) Skills: Expert-level modeling and Excel proficiency (R) Strong analytics capabilities including scenario modeling and forecasting (R); Proficiency with ERP and planning systems (R); Exceptional presentation and communication skills. Role Responsibilities:Financial Planning & Analysis: Lead the companywide planning calendar, including annual operating plans, long-range strategic planning, quarterly reforecasts, monthly outlooks, and board-level financial updates in partnership with functional leaders. Develop long-term financial models that incorporate macroeconomic factors, operational drivers, multi-year investments, and scenario-based analysis Oversee development of rolling forecasts using driver-based methodologies and predictive analytics. Assess forecast performance to identify risks, opportunities, and emerging trends. Responsible for monthly & quarterly analysis of various entities and cost centers of actual financial results vs. forecast/budget. Make recommendations for improvement. Timely completion of other types of analysis in support of business planning and evaluation, including long range plan, sales and order entry trend reporting, ROI, capital allocation, raw material impacts, etc. Direct monthly reporting packages, variance analysis, KPI dashboards, and scorecards. Support development of board-level financial presentations. Preparation of financial budgets, forecasts, and long-range projections including full P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow. Developing & enhancing discipline in the process to improve accuracy, and usefulness in decision making and analysis. Consolidate forecasts and budgets into a U.S. GAAP format and an IFRS format for global reporting requirements. Potentially implement forecasting/budgeting software to facilitate the process. Create business cases for investments, products, and capital projects. Support M&A initiatives with financial modeling, valuation, integration planning, synergy analysis, and due diligence Business Partnership & Collaboration: Act as a trusted advisor to executives and department heads. Collaborate across the organization to align financial outcomes with operational strategies. Partner with Accounting to ensure alignment with GAAP requirements. Support workforce planning, compensation modeling, pricing strategies, and cost optimization. FP&A Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop the FP&A team and support performance management and training initiatives. Support best practices for modeling, forecasting, reporting, and data governance. Build a culture of accuracy, curiosity, and strategic thinking. Systems, Tools, and Process Optimization: Enhance automation and data integration to streamline FP&A processes within our Microsoft D365 ERP project. Develop and implement standardized reporting frameworks. Champion continuous improvement and emerging analytics capabilities, including AI-enabled tools. Coordinate finance department interaction with the business intelligence tool, Targit, and the migration to Power BI. Sales file coordination and financial analysis include ability to analyze volume, average selling price, sales, cost & profitability data by alloy, by product form, by customer, by route-to-market, and by melt-type.
