Equipment Operator | Streets Department

An Equipment Operator operates heavy-duty equipment safely for the construction, repair or maintenance of city streets, alleys and storm sewers. The open position is flexible based on skill-set and experience. Operates various types of heavy-duty equipment, such as front-end loaders, excavators, sweepers, sanders, trucks, trailers etc. for the repair and maintenance of city roadways Assists in laborer duties, such as road and other patching using asphalt and cement Maintains traffic signs by placing, replacing and deciding where signs should go Performs preventative maintenance by greasing, oiling, and performing other duties on vehicles and equipment Performs after hours "on call" duties for sander operations or other emergencies This full-time position includes a generous benefit plan which includes health, dental, and vision insurance as well as access to the state pension plan (PERSI)...and the city ski pass!
