Job Description:
The ContractSafety Manager supports all safety efforts on a single project with >250 workforce or high hazard work.Promotes a positive safety cultureEnsures contractor activities are preplanned for safety through scope review, preconstruction meetings, JHA review, STAs, etc.Ensures contractors meet safety submittal requirementsEnsures contractor compliance with safety plan & expectationsMaintains all safety related documentationMakes recommendations concerning situations hazardous to employee safety or healthUtilizes SafetyNet to audit and monitor project team implementation of the Safety PlanPerforms at least 15 SafetyNet inspections per month with at least 100 observations in each inspectionProvides safety training to project teams, client, and OSHA requirementsInvestigates all accidents/near misses and completes all paperwork requiredEnsures project teams have safety equipment and resourcesServes as project liaison and manages project correspondence with Insurance carriersMaintains all safety related documentationCoaches and mentors less experienced team membersSupports a positive and inclusive work environmentKEY COMPETENCIES Communicate Effectively - Listen to understand and clearly convey information in all forms based on the audience to ensure shared meaning of the message. EXPERIENCE/EDUCATIONBachelor's degree in Occupational Safety Management or Engineering preferred3-5 years of construction safety management experienceBCSP credential (preferred)Current First Aid/CPR CertOSHA 30 (preferably completed in the last 3 years)Or equivalent combination of education and experienceKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIESProficient knowledge of construction safety principles, techniques, and methodsPractical knowledge of OSHA laws, regulations, and policiesCapable of identifying known potential exposures and recommending corrective actionStrong computer skills and familiarity with the Microsoft Office suiteStrong written and verbal communication skillsStrong interpersonal skills
