Lead Volunteer Educator

Overview Join our passionate team as a Lead Volunteer Educator! In this pivotal role, you will not only fulfill teaching responsibilities but also collaborate with the program director to recruit, train, and manage our dedicated volunteer educators. Qualifications and Experience A minimum of two years of classroom teaching experience in educational or community settings. A mature personal Christian faith aligned with the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith. Active participation in a local church whose beliefs align with the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith. Job Description Plan Curriculum Identify and select the LifeWise lessons to be taught each academic year. Ensure all educators and classes adhere to consistent expectations, processes, and curriculum that reflect the LifeWise mission. Collaborate with the program director to provide necessary curriculum resources and supplementary materials to educators. Train and Observe Educators Organize an engaging teacher training day at the beginning of each school year. Facilitate regular educator meetings to promote uniformity in procedures, curriculum, and expectations throughout the program. Support the program director in observing and mentoring educators. Participate as a team representative in virtual and in-person training opportunities offered by the LifeWise Support Center. Encourage educator involvement at the annual LifeWise Summit. Create and Maintain Records Develop classroom schedules and coordinate any necessary changes with staff members. Maintain accurate class rosters, noting health concerns and special needs as indicated on parent permission slips. Assist the director in formulating and upholding program policies and procedures. Communicate Effectively Represent the volunteer educators at Leadership Board meetings. Regularly visit program classes to offer support and motivation. Build strong relationships with volunteers and keep them informed of any scheduling changes. Submit regular updates, inspiring stories, and photos to the program director. Other Duties Assist the program director with additional responsibilities as needed.
