Role OverviewWe are seeking a Patient Support & Documentation Specialist to assist patients throughout the full intake and equipment‑ordering process. This role handles inbound and outbound calls, reviews documentation, verifies insurance, processes orders, and schedules patients for medically‑necessary equipment. Ideal candidates are patient‑focused, organized, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced healthcare support environment.Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Communication & Call HandlingRespond to incoming calls and emails quickly while meeting service performance targetsMake outbound calls to gather missing information, confirm patient details, or follow up on referralsClearly explain equipment orders, next steps, and patient financial responsibilityProvide accurate information about products, services, and support optionsOrder Entry & DocumentationEvaluate referral documentation for completeness and accuracyEnter and process patient orders according to established proceduresMaintain thorough and accurate call documentationEnsure all forms and records meet compliance standardsInsurance & AuthorizationVerify patient insurance eligibility and benefitsIdentify co‑pays, co‑insurance, deductibles, and coverage requirementsObtain pre‑authorizations when requiredSubmit physician orders to insurance carriers and follow up on pending approvalsAdministrative & Support TasksTrack pending orders and ensure timely follow‑upRoute calls to appropriate teams or departmentsMaintain up‑to‑date knowledge of products and services offeredRequired Skills & ExperienceCustomer service or call center experienceMedical office, patient‑care, or healthcare support experience preferredStrong attention to detail with documentation and data accuracyAbility to manage high call volumes and multitaskProfessional communication and strong problem‑solving skillsPreferred QualificationsHands‑on patient care experienceExperience with CPAP, respiratory equipment, or DME productsPrior insurance verification or healthcare documentation knowledgeExperience LevelEntry Level — training provided; healthcare experience strongly preferred.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kearney, NE.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.50 - $19.50/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
